Vehicle Safety Systems Inspection
Vehicle Safety Systems Inspection
When a salvaged vehicle is "revived" after being damaged in an accident or recovered after theft, it undergoes a title change even if ownership remains the same. To retitle the vehicle, the California DMV requires a State Licensed Inspection Station to evaluate all critical systems for potential damage or misalignment.
This inspection replaces the outdated Brake and Lamp Inspection by offering a more thorough review of your vehicle’s safety.
The inspection checks systems that help keep you, and others, on the road safe. These include:
Body structure
Brakes and lights
Passenger compartment
Steering and suspension
Tires and wheels
It also includes:
A scan of on-board diagnostics system
A check for open safety recalls
A road test
